Barbara Ruth Garvin worked a variety of jobs before becoming a professional artist in 1964. She had a studio in Scottsdale, Arizona before settling into a home in Carmel, California with her husband Bill Wilcox. She had a second home in Alpine County where she was a founder of the Bear Valley Art Association. Her works include floral still lifes, animal subjects, and Western genre.
