A.C. Gentry is a largely self-taught artist who began sketching and painting East Texas at age five, developing his practice from early sketches into oil paintings and eventually watercolor. He traveled extensively throughout the United States for art shows and made painting trips to England and France. His work has been widely collected, and he was selected by the state of Texas as a Texas State Artist in recognition of his artistic contributions and his preservation of East Texas history through his paintings.
